Cabrits National Park is located on a peninsula on the northern end of the island, just beyond the town of Portsmouth.

Established in 1986, Cabrits National Park occupies 1,313 acres of protected tropical forests, coral reefs, and wetlands. It is home to the restored Fort Shirley Garrison, several forest trails, and garrison ruins covered with jungle vines. The park is dominated by two low-rising volcanic peaks, East Cabrit and West Cabrit, extinct volcanoes, creating a spectacular view of the beaches below. The coastal area around the peninsular is designated a marine reserve.
