April is Fitness Month in Dominica

Roseau, Dominica – (April 12, 2022) 2022 has been designated by the Government of Dominica as the Year of Health of Wellness. As part of activities for the Year of Health and Wellness, April has been designated as Fitness Month and several activities have been planned. Special Entertainment Events Staged Successfully

Roseau, Dominica – (March 22, 2022) The traditional Carnival season 2022 was celebrated with a difference this year, due in large part to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Government of Dominica approved special protocols which allowed for special entertainment events to be piloted during what would traditionally be the Carnival period. Change in Protocols to Facilitate Entry of US Travellers 

Roseau, Dominica – (January 18, 2022) The Ministry of Tourism International Transport and Maritime Initiatives announced new measures for COVID-19 pre-arrival entry protocols for travellers originating in the US to Dominica with immediate effect. December 8th, 2021, offers connections to 42 US cities 

Roseau, Dominica – (September 30, 2021) With the announcement of its new direct flight between Miami and Dominica commencing on December 8th, 2021, American Airlines will be the first airline to operate commercial jet service from the US mainland to Dominica; and American Airlines continues to increase its network and services to Dominica with connections to 42 cities in North America and US territories. Dominica to officially commence 2021/2022 Cruise Season 

Roseau, Dominica – (October 5, 2021) Friday, October 1, 2021, marked the official start of the 2021/2022 Cruise Season. The MV Celebrity Equinox called in at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on that day. The island is scheduled to receive a total of 274 cruise calls during the 2021/2022 Cruise Season. This translates to a total of 413,577 cruise passengers. Of the 274 calls, 17 will be making their inaugural calls to the island. Since the resumption of cruise calls in July 2021, the island has received a total of 7 cruise calls

Dominica welcomes first cruise call since COVID 19

Roseau, Dominica – (July 27, 2021) After over a year of no cruise calls to Dominica due to COVID 19 restrictions, stakeholders can expect the first cruise call to Dominican shores on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. American Airlines begins Miami direct flights to Dominica

Dominica welcomes Caribbean Airlines to its shores

Roseau, Dominica, September 9, 2020 – Dominica welcomes Caribbean Airlines to our shores beginning September 19, 2020. In a radio interview which aired earlier in the month, the Minister of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, Hon Denise Charles had indicated the intent of the airline to service Dominica starting in September. Caribbean Airlines has now confirmed that subject to regulatory approval by the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority, the launch date for service between Barbados and Dominica will be September 19, 2020. <Read More>

Nature Island Open for Business After Dominica's General Elections

ROSEAU, Dominica, December 9, 2019The Electoral Office has published that the Dominica Labour Party won a resounding victory over the opposition in Dominica’s General Elections held on December 6, 2019. Leading up to the elections, there were pockets of civil disobedience primarily in the villages of Marigot in the Northeast and Salisbury in the West of the island. These disturbances resulted in some road blockages, which caused delays and inconveniences for people travelling to the Airport, however the airport remained opened for flights and operated as usual.<Read More>

New flights from Air Antilles add 2016 additional seats into the Nature Island

ROSEAU, Dominica, August 29, 2018 – The Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Air Access Committee of Discover Dominica Authority have successfully negotiated an additional 2016 seats into the destination from two new flights added by Air Antilles. 

The flights will commence on November 1, 2018, departing Pointe-a-Pitre (PTP) at 9pm to arrive in Dominica at 9:30pm on Thursdays and Sundays.  The aircraft will overnight in Dominica and depart the next mornings (Fridays and Mondays) at 5:30am to reach Pointe-a Pitre at 6:00am.  The flights will terminate for the season on March 29, 2019. <Read More>
