Burna Boy and Omah Lay announced as artistes
for Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival

Roseau, Dominica – (August 18, 2022) Dominica’s Minister for Tourism, International Transport, and Maritime Initiatives, Hon. Denise Charles announced two new artistes to perform at Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival carded for October 28 – 30, 2022 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. Grammy award-winning Nigerian afrobeat sensation Burna Boy will be the headliner on the festival stage to crone his popular melodies such as “Last, Last” with his unique fusion of dancehall, reggae, afrobeat, and pop music. Burna Boy recently released his sixth studio album Love, Damini which debuted at #14 on the Billboard Top 200 and continues to rank high on Apple Music in 47 countries. Official launch of 22nd World Creole Music Festival 

Roseau, Dominica – (August 8, 2022) The 22nd edition of Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) will be officially launched on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Petit Miami, formerly the Anchorage Hotel in Castle Comfort. Dominica Reconnects with French West Indies Travel Market

Roseau, Dominica – (August, 05th, 2022), Discover Dominica Authority and a delegation of the hotel and cultural representatives journeyed to Guadeloupe on July 28th, 2022, to increase the movement of people between the two islands and reconnect with a key source market for the Nature Island. The French West Indies is a significant market for Dominica, according to the authority’s research. Special Entertainment Events Staged Successfully

Roseau, Dominica – (September 30, 2021) With the announcement of its new direct flight between Miami and Dominica commencing on December 8th, 2021, American Airlines will be the first airline to operate commercial jet service from the US mainland to Dominica; and American Airlines continues to increase its network and services to Dominica with connections to 42 cities in North America and US territories. Dominica to officially commence 2021/2022 Cruise Season 

Roseau, Dominica – (October 5, 2021) Friday, October 1, 2021, marked the official start of the 2021/2022 Cruise Season. The MV Celebrity Equinox called in at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on that day. The island is scheduled to receive a total of 274 cruise calls during the 2021/2022 Cruise Season. This translates to a total of 413,577 cruise passengers. Of the 274 calls, 17 will be making their inaugural calls to the island. Since the resumption of cruise calls in July 2021, the island has received a total of 7 cruise calls

Dominica welcomes Caribbean Airlines to its shores

Roseau, Dominica, September 9, 2020 – Dominica welcomes Caribbean Airlines to our shores beginning September 19, 2020. In a radio interview which aired earlier in the month, the Minister of Tourism, International Transport and Maritime Initiatives, Hon Denise Charles had indicated the intent of the airline to service Dominica starting in September. Nature Island Open for Business After Dominica's General Elections

ROSEAU, Dominica, December 9, 2019The Electoral Office has published that the Dominica Labour Party won a resounding victory over the opposition in Dominica’s General Elections held on December 6, 2019. Leading up to the elections, there were pockets of civil disobedience primarily in the villages of Marigot in the Northeast and Salisbury in the West of the island. Dominica Update - One Year Post Hurricane Maria

New flights from Air Antilles add 2016 additional seats into the Nature Island

ROSEAU, Dominica, August 29, 2018 – The Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Air Access Committee of Discover Dominica Authority have successfully negotiated an additional 2016 seats into the destination from two new flights added by Air Antilles. 

The flights will commence on November 1, 2018, departing Pointe-a-Pitre (PTP) at 9pm to arrive in Dominica at 9:30pm on Thursdays and Sundays.  The aircraft will overnight in Dominica and depart the next mornings (Fridays and Mondays) at 5:30am to reach Pointe-a Pitre at 6:00am.  The flights will terminate for the season on March 29, 2019. <Read More>
